Celine has openly talked about the difficulties she faced growing up. By her own account, she wasn’t part of the popular crowd in school. She overcame the challenges she faced by focusing on her passion: singing. Celine once said, what “is great about maturity and growing older is that you understand the values of life and how it’s important to feel emotionally balanced, but it’s not given to you necessarily when you’re 15 and 17 years old (..)”. Celine also reflects on her teenage years with the song “At Seventeen”, a beautiful melody written and first recorded by Janis Ian.
